Foundation Training The Foundation Programme (FP) is a two year generic training programme which forms the bridge between medical school and Specialty/General Practice Training. During the Foundation Programme, trainees have the opportunity to gain experience in a series of placements in a variety of specialties and healthcare settings. Specialty Training Within Health Education North East we coordinate and facilitate the training of secondary care specialties within the North East. We work closely with clinicians in every specialty either through a School structure and / or through a Specialty Training Committee, to provide the highest possible quality education and training for our trainees.
